Blue degus at last

After countless delays, I am at the airport waiting for the arrival of several people's animals (shipped in one box for economy) including two breeding pairs of degus with a new color for them, "blue" or middle grey. After all the extra expences, I figure they will cost about $120 each (about twice the cost of the animals themselves from the European breeder). I figure I can sell the babies for a good price for a few years to breeders in North America. My next project will be to get wild female degus from Peru to out-breed with for superior genetics (mitacondrial DNA comes from the mother only). The third project will be aquiring the gene that makes blotches of white on the body.
