Heaven's gates are kid-sized

Jesus said "whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it" (Mark 10:13-16). What sort of aspects of children are expected of us? I would think that a solid understanding of our beliefs is not one of those aspects but rather a trust and open-mindedness. Attention span? Nope, not child-like. A sense of duty? Doubt it. Seriousness? Lol, you have to be kidding!

Left looking is right

I just noticed that many of the traditional portraits of Jesus show him looking to the left. I wonder if it is due to the passages saying He will be seated at the right hand of God... so looking God-ward would have Him looking to the left.

Lilies of the field

If we are to not worry about tomorrow or about what we will eat or wear but rather concentrate on God, it would help if we had a free supply of those things. Free means we make it ourselves. Monks and nuns of old lived in these communal situations to be able to concentrate on religious matters. My alternate energy ideas were originally spawned out of my desire to spend 2-4 years concentrating on making an animated film without receiving income during this time. I added the need to raise animals without problems from power failures but that is a secondary thought.
