Robin Hood and Hitler

We have been conditioned to think Robin Hood is the good guy... He takes from the corrupt rich and gives to the oppressed poor. Originally Robin Hood was only known to take from the rich and specifically the current concurring people in control of that part of England. The point was that those concurring people did not deserve their heavy taxes nor did they deserve to enjoy their life. Starts to sound a little more like a Hitler speech about those nasty money-hording people that deserved to have that money taken from them and given to the masses. The Communists said the same thing before their slaughter of the rich and powerful. The common thread is valuing the life of one group of people as lower then another group. People keep thinking I am talking of communism when I say "anarchy" but I am not opposed to having very rich people... Only that those rich people not be able to buy power over other people. It is the power that governments are given that scare me because people will always abuse such power if they have a belief that one group of people are less human than another group. Give the power back to the individuals and to those keeping law and order (but only for that capacity of keeping law and order and no further powers). "Democracy" is supposed to be "power to the people" and that is what I want. Right now, I have the small democracy of voting for one of several rich lawyers to mess with a good portion of the GDP as they see fit for the next few years... Not much power (but still better then much of the world)... How can we have more say and control as individuals? That is the question that must be answered before our powerful governments decide to abuse their power and cause another genocide or war or man-made famine. I am going to look long and hard for "robin hoods" while looking for "hitlers" and "stalins" (the ideals and not actual people) when looking for anarchistic ways to give power back to the people - power for individuals and not just majority-voted leaders.

Addicted to sex?

I have come to recognize some of the signs of addictions. One of the more common signs is the addicted person insisting on other people to join in the addiction. If the person thinks their actions are not correct actions for what ever reason, having other people do those actions allows them to feel they are normal in those actions. People all around me are constantly trying to get me interested in a romantic relationship or to get me in bed with anybody (offers to pay for hookers are plenty and often very serious). I am thinking they are addicted to sex (or at least addicted to the pursuit of sex). The world is increasing in population at a very fast rate. Much of that is due to the increased lifespan that modern society is creating but the birth rate is still out-pacing the death rate considerably in spite of the use of birth controls and abortions and in spite of the incredibly high numbers of AIDS deaths. I am thinking the world is addicted to sex. Be a virgin and not know what your missing... And avoid all those problems like family strife and STDs and the care of a human for the next two decades. As they say about drugs: "just say no". I am getting irritated on chat rooms by all the ASL requests (Age, Sex, Location) when it is clear that they just want to find a partner - for sex I assume.

The lost art of prophecy

The lost art of prophecy

I was looking for more business and organization names using the Bible as inspiration. Because I already chose Elisha the prophet to be part of my current business name (Elisha's Oil Ideas), I was looking at prophets at that point in history. It seems like there were dozens of prophets who advised every leader at that time and were known to perform miracles and their prophecies were taken seriously. These prophets were even given a high status in society even if they were followers of a different religion. I am wondering why there were so many at that point in time when belief in the God we know (Christian, Jewish, Muslim... single creator being without a physical presence due to being everywhere) was in danger of ceasing altogether as the only monotheistic believers, the Hebrews, were mostly worshiping Ashtorah and Baal. Looking at other miraculous conversions in the Bible, we see Paul switching from being the highly effective hunter and exterminator of early Christians into the key spokesperson for Christians and the writer of much of the New Testament books. It looks like sometimes God has to "pull out the big guns" to make maximum effect on society. I think our modern world is in need of prophets but we need ones that will be listened to. Scientists and lobbyists seem to be the only ones doing that job - "repent for the end of oil or clean air is at hand". Just like the prophets of old, many are bought-out to say what someone in power wants them to say but they are completely discredited if their lies are discovered. I wonder if there are more prophets around now but they are disguised as eccentrics and environmentalists and bloggers. I will try to do my part at telling the world how to repent of their destruction of the livability of this planet and like many of the miracle-working prophets, come up with magic-like solutions to common problems like contaminated water supply (Elisha added a bowl of salt) or lack of income causing homelessness (the oil for the widow story I based my business name on).

Fire earth air water and ultimate housing

Looking at the different parts of alternate energy designs, it struck me how balancing the four elementals (Fire, Earth, Air, Water) are key to a good system. Of these, the Earth element is generally lacking in modern designs and the "Fire" is artificial instead of using the natural Sun for that. As efficiency goes up, Air and Water become very important things to worry about in design for humidity control and air quality.
