01:25 am: Half-year plan
My plans have constantly been scuttled by various things over the last 20 years but I am slowly getting closer to my goal. I can come up with 2 year, 5 year, and 10 year plans like I have many times but they are never fulfilled. Instead I will concentrate on shorter term plans and remake them often. My goal is to get raising animals again so the plans here are what I need to get that goal. First, the house in town needs to be set up so I do not need to live there. This requires the place to be fixed up, the real estate agent to have a lock box on the door, and a 24-hour-monitored alarm system installed. Next I need transportation. I will eventually need a flat-bed truck to haul things like solar panels and hay bales and large pieces of glass for greenhouses. My bus needs work first and my scooter will likely not be safe on gravel. A car would only be a temporary use vehicle unless it is a diesel high-efficiency or electric vehicle but it will be a while until they are allowed in Canada and then to become reasonably priced. If I am to start installing things this summer, the flatbed truck will be needed first. Next I will move to my house in the country (Colfax). I will need a power generator (preferably diesel) temporarily for heat and power tools and a welder. Next I will fix my bus to live in it and to look passable for a vehicle inspection (so police do not pull me over and insist I get it inspected if I drive it around). Once the bus is livable, I can start ripping the walls and ceiling apart in the Colfax house so I can start rebuilding it with insulation and radiant wall heating. There is likely asbestos and rodent droppings in the ceiling and walls that will be dangerous to animals so the walls and ceiling work needs to be done before the animals are acquired. After all that, there is the preparation of a home for ground squirrels and building and testing the traps I designed specifically for ground squirrels. I will stick to ground squirrels because they can hibernate if the next part of my plans (installing alternate energy in Colfax) cannot be completed before next September.
